SCL Welcomes Gordon Brown’s Praise of Public Library

Gordon Brown visited the Sherburn Library and SureStart centre and praised it as a model for libraries.

On a visit to the Sherburn Library and SureStart centre, located in North Yorkshire, Prime Minister Gordon Brown said: “This is not just a library it is really a full community service available to people and we need that in different parts of the country and I can learn from what’s happening here about what might happen in other areas of the country.  So this is a model, I think, for the future.  People should be so proud of the facility we’ve got here.”
