Nicky Parker talks about the budget

In the challenging times ahead for local government with pressure on all budgets,  Heads of Library Services have an opportunity, to  reposition their services. By keeping the fundamental principles of reading, learning and information at the core and by working in partnership with others, library staff can demonstrate the value of libraries to elected members, funders and local communities.   This is a time to be brave and to seek new, smarter ways of working. SCL will work nationally with partners to drive, support and share innovation, efficiency and improvement locally. Investment in the development of the skills of our workforce will be critical going forward.
